This is another rarely used trail in Maarat and is not in Bud's map.
There is a singletrack trail at the back of the small chapel. Go down the stairs for 500 meters and you'll end up in sand pit. This is where the motocross bikers do stunts. There is one trail to Ka Vergel after crossing a river and there is another trail going to the nursery. There is a fireroad trail that climbs up to the main trail. One can do this in reverse.

Is that stairs bikeable going down? I always notice that eerie looking chapel and that singletrack beside it, wondered where it went. we could try that trail one saturday.

The stairs are bikable going down (at least most parts of it) especially if you use an All-Mountain 5 incher. The stairs is around 200 meters long. The sand pit (where trees don't grow coz of the red sand), is about as big as a football field. There are single tracks going to the Yes or No and Ka Vergel trails there and the bamboo bridge going to the nursery. There is a fireroad going to the main trail from the nursery. The Chapel looks eerie as it looks more like of a mausoleum than of a Chapel. I've been there as early as 6am and as late as 5pm and everytime I pass, I get that uneasy eerie feeling hehe The old trees make the place darker. Maybe we should have a night right in Maarat and have dinner at Giant or Ka Vergel.

Went there May 1st with 10 bikers; The stairs have eroded somewhat and are 100% bikeable. The climb going up on this weather is almost non-bikeable hehe
