I found out that most of the bike prices around (Pinas) are selling stuffs much more expensive than abroad... This applies to frames, forks and other highend stuffs...Store owners tend to tag the items not lower than the Int'l. MSRP and it seems very difficult to ask for a discount... Maybe it's just me but what about you guys? any same experience?

I also noticed that US made frames are the ones that are a bit expensive in the Philippines. The Japan and Taiwan made components and Frames are more or less the same.

That is why some pinoy mtbikers from Switzerland and other parts of Europe are sending money here to buy parts then shipped, ( still much cheaper here plus the shipping fee ) The Fox Forx you can buy here at 50K costs almosts hundred pesos thousand in US A mallbike cost P2,500.00 here, in WalMart sa US, it will costs around 7th pwesos ( converted to pesos ), well, I donno know, it's my experience. hello po, my first post-yhanks

Prices dropped this year than in 2005 for Fox, Specialized, Titus, Turner and Ellsworth. Maybe it's the low dollar rates, or maybe the distributors intentionally lowered prices.

They offer installment thru credit card hehe. I have not tried it, but for sure you can purchase forks thru card as they asked me if I'll be paying card or cash when I bought some stuffs there. Actually, pati Sabak meron din for an Ellsworth or Titus frame hehe.

So what mtb frame/built up bike can you guys recommend for a newbie? Budget is around 10k to 19k. Basta not more than 20K. Decent Shimano parts e.g. Deore or XT? Thanks for the advise.
